KINGSLAND WINES & SPIRITS
Based Manchester Area
Salary circa £20k circa
Kingsland Wines & Spirits is a well established and rapidly expanding company sourcing wines globally and bottling and supplying both wines and spirits to the UK retail trade. With five bottling lines and bag-in-box capability there has been significant recent investment in all areas of the business including people, plant and site development.
Recent restructure within the business has resulted in the need to strengthen our Laboratory team. As a result of this we are now looking to recruit for the position of:
Laboratory Technician
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the key objectives of this role is as follows:
€¢ Routine analysis of wine and spirit samples involving a variety of methods including manual titrations, distillations, pH measurement and organoleptic assessments.
€¢ Calculation of additions to bulk product.
€¢ Micro-biological testing of wine samples.
€¢ Ensuring packaging meets defined specifications.
€¢ Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
€¢ Quality Control checks on finished product.
€¢ Accurate recording of results.
The successful candidate should have experience of working in an accredited laboratory within a FMCG environment preferably within the drinks industry. They would be expected to work as part of a team and unsupervised under their own initiative, work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. You should have good IT skills due to a level of data input.
The successful applicant will have the ability to maintain a high level of discipline with the daily adherence to product quality and have a proven track record of working towards continuous improvement objectives. Candidates would be expected to have at least 2 A levels or equivalent, one of which must be science related. You must be able to work shifts which will include weekend work, flexibility is required in this busy role.
